Engine Specs of 2017 Ford Mustang

The 2017 Mustang offers a choice of four powerful engines. The 3.7L V6 offers up 300-hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, standard on V6 models, while the 2.3L EcoBoost doles out 310-hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, standard on EcoBoost models. The 5.0L V8 churns out 435-hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, standard on GT models. And for the pinnacle in Mustang performance, the 5.2L V8 delivers an incredible 526-hp and 429 lb-ft of torque, standard on the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R.

2017 Mustang Selectable Drive Modes

The new Mustang also features customizable driving preferences that let you dial in the handling dynamics you want. It adjusts its handling and response characteristics to optimize control according to your selection. Simply choose your desired driving mode using a toggle switch on the center stack, with settings for Normal, Snow/Wet, Sport or Track.

Launch Control for 2017 Mustang

With the 2017 Mustang’s Launch Control — for track use only — the brakes, traction control and powertrain control are integrated to help ensure smooth, consistent starts for all driving conditions. Real-time vehicle performance information is displayed through Track Apps on the in-dash LCD screen. This advanced system can help drivers of all skill levels to drive like the pros by providing excellent torque balance, grip and acceleration.

2017 Mustang Performance Packages

The 2017 Mustang also offers two Performance Packages — EcoBoost and GT. With EcoBoost, you can customize your Mustang with unique chassis tuning, summer-only tires, aluminum wheels, improved braking performance and more. With the GT Performance Package — available only on Mustang GT — Brembo six-piston front brake calipers with larger rotors deliver plenty of track cred. The GT Performance Package also includes TORSEN Differential with 3.73 Axle Ratio.
