2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty Has Class-Leading Fuel Capacity

2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty Fuel Tank Capacity

Nobody buys a heavy duty truck because they are worried about saving a few nickels and dimes on fuel costs. But that also doesn’t mean you want to always have to take time away from getting the job done to fill up at the pump either. So if you’re looking for a truck that is dependable and rugged, but also has endurance when it comes to fuel use, then it’s natural to wonder about the 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty fuel tank capacity.

If you missed the memo previously, the all-new 2017 Super Duty received an all-new long-box Crew Cab with a longer wheelbase and a wider track. Naturally, this larger size means you can haul more, including fuel. In fact, you can haul so much fuel that the 2017 F-Series Super Duty has a class-leading fuel tank size for the heavy-duty pickup truck segment.

So, just how big is it? Well, when it comes to the new long-box Crew Cab configuration the Super Duty is equipped with a 48-gallon fuel tank. Thanks to the larger size, the tank fits right between the frame and driveshaft.

This is quite a bit larger than the fuel tanks you may be used to from the 2016 Super Duty models. For instance, the new long-box Crew Cab’s fuel tank is 37% larger than the 2016 gas-equipped pickup, which had a 35-gallon tank. The 2016 Super Duty equipped with diesel instead had a 37.5-gallon tank, making the 2017’s new 48-gallon tank 22% larger.

It’s pretty clear that some big improvements have been made to the 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty fuel tank capacity. Now, there are no limits to where you can travel or how long you spend getting the job done. To learn more, contact us at Wade Ford or ask us how you can get behind the wheel.
