2017 Ford F-250 Engine Options and Towing Specs

The standard 6.2-liter V8 engine has been tweaked for the 2017 model year to up the output to 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. A revised 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 with 440 horsepower and 925 pound-feet of torque is also available for F-250 customers. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is offered as an option.

When properly equipped, the F-250 is rated to tow conventional trailers up to 18,000 pounds and fifth wheel/gooseneck trailers up to 18,600 pounds. A two-wheel drive regular cab F-250 offers a maximum payload of 4,200 pounds and the crew-cab four-wheel drive F-250 can carry a maximum of 3,450 pounds.
