Ford Introduces an Even More Capable F-150 Pickup

2018 Ford F-150 Official Release Date

Just when you didn’t think it was possible, Ford introduces the new 2018 Ford F-150 which is now even tougher, smarter and more capable than ever before. As part of the best-selling truck lineup for the past 40 years, the F-150 has a lot of expectations to live up to and each year Ford exceeds those expectations and the 2018 model year is no different. The 2018 Ford F-150 has an official release date of fall of 2017 so unfortunately, we have a while to wait until the revised F-150 is available on the market but that doesn’t mean that we can't share all of its great updates and changes.

2018 Ford F-150 Exterior Changes

For the 2018 model year, Ford created the F-150 with an even more aggressive look. All Ford F-150 models receive new grilles, headlamps, and bumpers that create a wider and more planted stance and provide a more noticeable difference between the series. The F-150 features six all-new wheel designs as well, ranging from 17 inches to 22 inches in diameter. A new sculpted tailgate with deeper accent form and stamped "F-150" are paired with new tail lamp designs. A tailgate applique adds a horizontal element to the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited versions.

2018 Ford F-150 Engine Options

The 2018 F-150 offers the most advanced F-150 engine lineup ever and the best towing capability of any F-150 ever. The new F-150 features an all-new, standard 3.3-liter V6 Engine with direct-injection for increased efficiency. The all-new second-generation 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine features advanced dual port and direct injection technology for improved levels of output, efficiency, quality and durability.

The 5.0-liter V8 sees improvements for increased power and torque and it is paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission for the first time. The 2018 F-150 will also be available with the all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine that is paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission. This is the first-ever diesel engine offered for the F-150. The 2018 F-150 is also the first full-size pickup truck to add automatic start/stop as standard equipment across all models and engines. Should you find yourself with the inclination to ride in the bed of a pickup truck in Georgia, you may want to reconsider not only whether if it is legal, but also whether or not it is a good idea.
