Trim Levels
The Ford Taurus has four trims available - the SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO. The Limited and SHO trims come with auto high beam headlamps, while the SHO also has high-intensity discharge headlamps. All trims come standard with LED taillamps. There are also rain-sensing wipers on the Limited and SHO to help you out when the weather is bad. If you want some extra lighting in your vehicle, there is an available moonroof option on the SEL, Limited, and SHO trims.
Engine
Two engines are offered with the Ford Taurus. The 3.5-liter V-6 engine comes on the SE, SEL, and Limited trims. It has 288 horsepower and comes with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. This transmission has a sport mode with shifter button activation. The other engine available is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that comes with the SHO trim. Using turbocharging and direct injection, it gets 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. This engine uses a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with sport mode and paddle shifter activation.
Performance
<p>Drivers have the option of all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive with the 2019 Ford Taurus. The all-wheel drive is standard on the SHO trim but is also available on the SEL and Limited trims. A front-wheel drive is standard on the SE, SEL, and Limited trims. </p> <p>All Taurus trims come with torque vectoring control and curve control. These systems slow your vehicle around corners so that you have complete control. Also available on all trims is electric power-assisted steering. This system can help correct for road irregularities and improve the feeling of your steering by using an electric motor. Electric power-assist steering also features pull-drift compensation, which helps offset the vehicle from pulling or drifting in crosswinds or on uneven roads. </p> <p> Available on the SHO trim is a sport-tuned suspension. Using shock absorbers, springs, stabilizer bars, and strut mount bushings, the SHO delivers high-quality road holding, steering response, and cornering agility. </p>
Interior
<p>Inside the Taurus, you will find heated and cooled seats, which come standard on the Limited and SHO trims. These trims also offer heated outboard rear seats and a heated steering wheel. The SEL, Limited, and Sho also offer drivers dual-zone climate control. </p> <p>The infotainment system found in the Taurus is the SYNC 3, which uses responsive voice-activated technology that allows you to use navigation and connect to your smartphone with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Drives also have access to Ford + Alexa, which gives you access to Amazon Alexa capabilities from your home in your vehicle. </p>
Safety Features
Safety features available in the 2019 Ford Taurus include a reverse sensing system, which is available on the SEL, Limited, and SHO trims. There is also a blind spot information system with a cross-traffic alert, which is standard on the Limited and SHO trims.
