The base level S has a body-color rear spoiler, upper and lower black grilles, black sideview mirrors, a manual liftgate, and front and rear intermittent windshield wipers.

The next level SE builds on the S, offering the same or better standard amenities, including a chrome upper grille, fog lamps, dual chrome exhaust tips, privacy glass on the second row and liftgate, and acoustic laminated front door side glass.

Providing additional design touches, the SEL is equipped with heated sideview mirrors, daytime running lights, LED signature lighting, black roof rails, and a power liftgate.

The top entry to the Escape lineup is the Titanium, featuring silver roof rack side rails, a foot-activated liftgate, and a windshield wiper de-icer.

Engine
The Escape S is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that reaches 168 horsepower. The SE and SEL models see a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine topping 177 horsepower, and the Titanium is fueled by a 2.0-liter twin-scroll EcoBoost engine with 245 horsepower.
Performance
Don't be fooled by the relatively compact size of the Escape crossover. This vehicle is packed with tools and features to make even the most challenging terrain an easy ride. The sturdy front-wheel drive system can be upgraded to a four-wheel-drive system on most models. Standard traction control and electric power-assisted steering round out the Escape's performance amenities that make it a pleasure to drive.
Interior

The Escape has been designed to maximize interior performance, as well. The spacious interior comfortably seats five adults in addition to 34 cubic feet of storage space. Take advantage of the 60/40 split-fold seats to reveal 68 cubic feet of total storage space with the rear seat folded flat.

The driver's experience is exceptionally plush, aided by a 10-way power driver's seat on every model apart from the S. The SEL and Titanium include standard leather-trimmed front bucket seats for further comfort.

As you're cruising along, enjoy the standard SiriusXM Satellite Radio broadcasting throughout the Escape's six speakers. In the Titanium, the sound is boosted to a 10-speaker Sony system. The voice-activated touch-screen navigation system is another upscale touch in the Titanium, providing the driver with simplified access to apps and mapping features.

Safety Features

Every Escape is loaded with the full complement of safety features that you would expect in any Ford vehicle. The rearview camera, torque vectoring control, and roll stability control features are standard to ensure the safest driving conditions.

The standard tire pressure monitoring keeps the driver alert to the tire inflation, which can prevent blown tires or other accidents. The SOS Post-Crash Alert system is standard on all trims and draws attention to your vehicle in the event of an accident.
